Existence by Steven Andrew Kacsmar What are we who walk the Earth? It seems to me we’re creatures Who have sprung forth from the womb of Nature, from our Mother, Mother Earth. We’re the elements compacted; Our muscles they contract For we are movement, And we are change. Restricted by mundane affairs, We don’t take time to see beyond what’s there. But every earthly grandeur, Every mountain, every sea, Every atom of every tree, And every road and building that we see, Is naught but part and parcel of our complete identity. Each emerging cry, And each life-ending sigh Adds to the whole, something irreplaceable. Each and every tear that’s shed, Each sorrow felt, each pang of dread, And every heart that feels like lead Will experience completion And the just recompense of the impartial Law, For balance exists and the see will saw. And it will be known that there never was flaw. I can see that we’re more than meets the eye, We may be earth but we’re also sky, And the vast expanse of time and space Exists within you and I. What are we who walk the Earth? We are experience; Joy, Sorrow, Love, Fear and Hate, Ambiguity, Confusion, Wisdom blossoming out of Pure Emotion, Radiant Thought, Irrefutable Logic, Desire, Inter-related web of action and response, Unconquerable Creativity. We are that which is indescribable, For how can you describe Existence?
Ocean Sung Song By Steven Kacsmar On the surface splashing, surging Waves that crash against the shore. Sings the ocean it’s song of rhythm; Life and death forever more. And as I stand upon the sand And listen to that ancient call, I catch a sound, the voice of wisdom Life and death for one and all. From each end a new beginning Sprouts a bud from beneath the snow And love will bloom again in springtime Around their stars the planets go. Spiral cycles never ending Code of life within each cell. Now extoll your cosmic greeting. Life’s enchantment casts a spell. I smile to myself. I guess I might as well. Life’s just what is, I’m just who I am, And only time will tell.
